It’s tradition. You have to have a “Hello World” post. Here’s mine.
I’m an American who’s been living in Canada for the last few years. That’s been an experience. Rick Mercer’s “Talking to Americans” bit totally overdoes it. It mostly proves that if you stick a camera and a mic in Americans’ faces and tell them your country only recently legalized staplers, they’ll smile and say well good for you instead of pointing out how ridiculous you are. That would be rude. But there is a bit of adjustment for Americans when they come to Canada. One of the reasons for this site is to run my occasional series “Canada for Americans” that explains some of the differences and the odd bits of encountering Canada as an American.
There’s a few other, even more occasional, series that will show up here. I’m also starting to do a lot of writing on Associated Content, and this will link to those articles. And there’ll be shout outs to other cool things I find there, and just around the net.
So I don’t know how you found your way here, but I’m glad you’re here and I hope you find something worth your time. Let me know what you think, eh?
