Owen Black is an American expatriate living in Vancouver, British Columbia where he ekes out a meager living as a journalist, writer, unwelcome street orator and collector of discarded sports cars.
The Owen Black Experience is one of happiness and joy, world-weary angst, middle class entitlement, cosmic awareness, cinematic dilettantism, web 2.0 narcissism, jaw-dropping wonder and that ragged edge you get around your brain when you’ve stayed up 28 hours drinking coffee to finish a paper on D.H. Lawrence when you could never actually get through Lady Chatterley’s Lover once you realized it wasn’t nearly as erotic as you’d been led to believe. All in short, handy doses for the ADD generation.
Welcome to the Experience.

Press informationen – Artists:
Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape offers ten new tracks by promising newcomers from around the world every eight weeks and for free download.
With this current 22nd edition of the successful format fans can look forward to the following highlights:
Tall Baby – Baby I Like Your Groove
Tall Baby, a five-piece from London, are a self-confessed “work in progress”. Based on a rare case of sibling love, the band’s two masterminds Clive and Nicole Selwyn not only share the same set of genes, but also a penchant for beguiling sounds.
Goldstrand – Saving All My Love
Any summer should last forever, especially a summer of love. Our perfect soundtrack for long days and hot nights is „Saving All My Love“ by hopeless romantics Goldstrand. Based in landlocked Nuremberg, but equipped with beach-friendly acoustic guitars and heavenly strings and harmonies, their subtle yearning adds a touch of bittersweet desire to this summer hit.
Thomsen – Zone Out (Remix)
Erlangen-based singer/songwriter Thomsen is a loner at heart. Still, the hushed beauty of his gentle songs, based on just a few bars of guitar or mandolin, did not go unnoticed – whether at home or opening for Lambchop singer Kurt Wagner. „Zone Out“ is a slightly different affair, it even features the help of some friends.
Sodatones – Mistakes
Serge Gainsbourg, Madonna and Jazzanova are friends of “Sodatones“. That is at Myspace. With trendy groove songs of their debut album „Day In, Day Out“ the six musicians from Mannheim and Ludwigshafen, Germany are also steadily gaining more friends in real life.
The ME Band – Delusions Of Adequacy
Mark Wilkinson, Jon Seneger and Thomas Henry Dean are The ME Band. Or not. Depending on your definition of „band“. As a virtual online project, the two Brits Mark and Tom and Swede Jon collaborate online and use the medium to invite contributions from around the world. To date, their „long distance online recording project” has featured entries from Europe, America and even India or Mexico.
